What it is

LifeRx.md is a telehealth company that offers weight loss, hair loss and sexual health treatments online. For weight loss, a provider reviews your health history and may prescribe a GLP-1, which a partner pharmacy ships to you.

What it prescribes

Its GLP-1 plans use compounded drugs. The weight-loss page carries a disclaimer that these compounded drugs have not been approved by FDA or reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality [1]. The same disclaimer notes that FDA-approved semaglutide products are available [2], and we found no brand-name GLP-1 offered on its pages. The company says its prescriptions are filled by 503A pharmacies, the compounding pharmacies licensed by state pharmacy boards [3].

What it costs

LifeRx.md advertises GLP-1 treatment starting at $200, with an asterisk pointing to pricing and eligibility terms [4]. It does not publish what higher-priced options cost, so treat that figure as the floor rather than your bill. The same page says there is no membership or subscription fee, no higher price for higher doses, and that HSA and FSA cards can be used [5]. Its terms describe the service as self-pay: it does not bill insurance, so plan on paying cash [6].

Signing up and cancelling

You fill in an online intake form, and a first video visit is required before weight-loss treatment starts [7].

The billing model is unusual. There is no subscription or automatic renewal; each month you request and pay for the next month yourself [8]. That means nothing to cancel, but also that you must remember to reorder if you want to continue without a gap. Refunds are the hard edge: the company will not take returns or refund any medication once it has been dispensed or shipped [9].

LifeRx.md says it is available in all 50 states [10].

Safety and regulatory record

We searched FDA’s warning letter database for LifeRx and found no letter. One result, Lyfe Rx, is a different business with a different website. The larger safety point is about the product itself: FDA says compounded drugs should be used only when an approved drug cannot meet the patient’s medical need [11].

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
