What it is

Willow is an online, doctor-led weight-loss program built around GLP-1 medication. After an online assessment, a doctor reviews your health history and, if appropriate, prescribes semaglutide or tirzepatide as an injection or an oral option [1]. Its partner pharmacies prepare and ship the medication.

What it prescribes

Everything on its GLP-1 menu is compounded. Willow says plainly that compounded medications are not brand-equivalent and that it is not the pharmacy that makes them [2]. Its site also states that compounded products are not approved or evaluated by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality [3]. We found no brand-name GLP-1, such as Wegovy or Zepbound, offered on its pages.

The price covers the medication, your medical evaluation and plan, unlimited messaging with your doctor, round-the-clock support and free shipping [8]. You can pay with an HSA or FSA card [9]. Willow does not work directly with insurance [10]. Its help center says some private or employer plans may reimburse you if you file the receipts yourself, depending on your plan [11]; do not count on that for a compounded drug until your insurer confirms it.

Signing up and cancelling

Willow is open to adults 18 and older who are not pregnant or breastfeeding [12]. You can cancel anytime by messaging the care team, but the request must arrive at least 2 business days before your next processing date to avoid the next charge [13]. If you cancel before your prescription goes to the pharmacy, you get a full refund within 5 to 10 business days [14].

Willow is available in 36 states [15]. States not on its list include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont and West Virginia, plus Washington, DC.

Safety and regulatory record

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

Willow suits someone in one of its states who has chosen a compounded GLP-1 and wants one all-inclusive monthly price with easy cancellation.
