What it is

Effecty is a cash-pay telehealth service that lists both FDA-approved brand-name GLP-1s and compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. It describes itself as a technology platform that connects people with independent licensed providers [1]. Besides weight loss, it sells longevity and hormone products.

What it prescribes

The weight-loss menu has two groups. The brand-name group includes Zepbound and Wegovy, plus Mounjaro and Ozempic, whose FDA labels are written for type 2 diabetes [21] [22]. Our page on what each GLP-1 is approved for explains the difference. The compounded group is semaglutide and tirzepatide.

Effecty’s own pages say compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by FDA for safety or effectiveness [17]. FDA says the same [18]. A compounded shot is a different product from the brand-name pen, even when the active ingredient has the same name.

Brand-name prices are high. Compounded prices drop with longer billing.

The Zepbound page says its starting price assumes a 3-month starter pack [3]. The lowest compounded figures shown near the top of the product pages include a first-order discount [11]. Effecty says it charges no membership fee [12] and keeps one price at every dose [13].

Those brand-name prices are well above the makers’ own cash programs. LillyDirect lists Zepbound pens from $449 a month even at the top dose, for refills on time [19]. Effecty says it ships GLP-1 drugs to every state [15].

Signing up and cancelling

Orders run as subscriptions. You can cancel by contacting support before an order goes to the pharmacy. After the prescription reaches the pharmacy, only future shipments can be cancelled [16]. Safety and regulatory record

A search of FDA’s warning letter database for Effecty and its web address returned no warning letter when this page was updated. The brand-name drugs it lists are FDA-approved; the compounded ones are not [18].

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

Effecty suits someone who wants one service that can prescribe either a brand-name drug or a compounded one, paid in cash. Look elsewhere for brand-name drugs if price matters, because its listed prices are high, and look elsewhere if you want insurance to pay.
