Fella Health review

What it is

Fella Health is an online weight-loss program aimed at men. You fill in a medical form, a clinician decides whether a GLP-1 fits, and the medicine ships to your home as part of a monthly plan [19]. Plans also include health coaching [20]. Fella sells testosterone and longevity treatments too, which this review does not cover.

What it prescribes

Most Fella plans use compounded medicine. Its treatments page says a provider may prescribe a compounded drug when it fits your plan [1], and its FAQ names outside partner pharmacies, starting with Strive Pharmacy [3]. FDA says compounded drugs are not FDA approved and are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality before sale [18]. FDA also points out that generic drugs are approved before sale, while compounded drugs are not [21].

Fella also offers a brand-name route: Zepbound bought through LillyDirect [2]. On that plan the drug is paid to the pharmacy separately from Fella’s fee [15]. See our Zepbound page for what LillyDirect charges.

What it costs

The plan page shows semaglutide from $249 a month [4] and tirzepatide from $399 a month [5], with the medicine included. Those starting rates depend on paying ahead. One set of options runs $299 month to month, $1,494 for 6 months or $1,980 for 12 months [6]. The other runs $449 month to month or $1,197 for 3 months [7]. Fella says the price does not change as your dose goes up [8].

Insurance

Its membership terms say no insurance is accepted and payment is self-pay only [9]. An FAQ answer is looser, saying the team can check whether insurance might cover parts of the program such as medicine [10]. Go by the signed terms. Signing up and cancelling

Plans renew automatically for the same length unless you end them [12]. Either side can end the agreement at any time with 30 days’ written notice [11], and fees already paid are non-refundable [13]. On a prepaid 6- or 12-month plan [6], that money is gone if you stop early [13].

The 6-month money-back guarantee [22] has conditions. Among them: you must log your weight in at least 21 of the first 26 weeks and have lost less than 5% of your starting weight, with a starting BMI of 30 or more [14]. Where it operates

Fella’s clearest statement is on its affiliate page: it operates in every US state except Kansas and Mississippi [23], which makes 48 states [23]. Its FAQ is less exact. One answer says it is in almost all US states and asks people in uncovered states to join a waitlist [16]; another says the GLP-1 program is available nationwide [17]. If you live in Kansas or Mississippi, ask before you sign up.

Safety and regulatory record

We searched FDA’s warning letter database and found no letter to Fella Health. The only match for the name was a 2022 letter to Fella Group LLC, a different company, on an unrelated import matter. The main safety question is the one above: its standard plans rely on compounded drugs.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

Fella suits men who want one predictable monthly price with the medicine included and accept a compounded drug. Look elsewhere if you want an FDA-approved medicine as the default, want to use insurance, or do not want to prepay months ahead.
